Spring Fling Friday!!!!

We would like to thank everyone for the support they have shown for the upcoming Spring Fling.  The final preparations are being taken care of and there are just a few reminders we would like to share:

  1. We will be pre-selling tickets at each school on Thursday and Friday, June 1 & 2 during lunch hour. Tickets will also be available during the event.  Proceeds from advance ticket sales will go to the respective school.  Proceeds from the night of the event will be divided equally.  Tickets are 50 cents each.

  1. Dessert Cafe Items can be dropped off at Glen Stewart Primary during school hours on Friday, June 2.

  1. We hope to have the volunteer sign in station located on the grass in front of Glen Stewart Primary. If weather does not allow that to happen please enter the school and look for the “volunteer Sign In Station” sign.  Student volunteers will be available to show you to your assigned station.

  1. We are short just a few volunteers at this point. If you are able to help please sign up using the doodle poll link        https://doodle.com/poll/z4uwvkucyyhys7iv      or by email springflingstratford@gmail.com

School Supplies

School Supply Fees for the 2017-2018 School Year are now being collected. The fees will be $40 and these can be paid online, or by cash or cheque made payable to Glen Stewart Primary. Please ensure you have paid these fees by May 30, 2017.  We thank you in advance for your cooperation.

Sunscreen and school

Please apply sunscreen to your child before they come to school if they need it.  The Canadian Cancer Society says “the best protection is to apply sunscreen generously 30 minutes before going outdoors” so putting it on at home works the best. The children don’t always remember to apply or it ends up in their eyes or all over their friend. Also, long sleeves and a hat is helpful too! Of course, this is me assuming the sun will come out sometime!

Normally I don’t have a problem with the children bring in toys but last week we had a lot of hurt feelings. This week no one is allowed to bring toys into the classroom until we understand sharing and how to express ourselves without hurting someone’s feelings. We started a friendship chain and we will spend time role playing and writing about how important friends are. I’ll let you know when the band is lifted! 🙂

Friday May 19th- A grade 5 class from Stratford (Mrs.Hughes/Mr.Dunphy) will be visiting our class!! They created short stories and will be reading them to us!! This is a wonderful opportunity for KB to see “big kid’s” writing.

Have a great week
