December already!?? December is the most exciting time to be a kindergarten teacher!
We were very busy last week and this week looks busy too. We have been focusing on book making and what is a sentence! We’re not going to be introducing any new sight words until January. I think we need to learn a few more letter sounds (to help us with beginning sounds of words) and number (2-5) formation. Plus, we need to make time for fun stuff too!! 🙂 *** Write a letter to Santa and then we’ll walk to the pharmacy to mail them!!
Christmas Bowling Field trip for the English Kindergarten will take place Thursday Dec 15th (Snow Day Friday Dec 16th) at 10:30-11:15.
Winter challenges- This may sound silly but your child should practice at home putting on their own snow pants, boots and coats. It’s a great opportunity for you to see if their boots and coats work for them. They need to be independent getting dressed for outside and how to do it so they don’t get cold during recess. Little things (snow pants over boots, mittens on first then coat ect…) can make a BIG difference for your child to enjoy being outside. They have to get ready 3 times a day so they will catch on quickly!! Just with a few tips for parents or adjustments can help this winter run smoothly for you child!
Mrs.Meade leaves us Thursday Dec.15th! She may return in February to do her second placement with us! She will be missed by everyone! Fingers crossed she returns to KB!! I’ll keep you posted!
